Calvin Anderson Wins Eighth WSOP Bracelet During Las Vegas Slot Session

Calvin Anderson won his eighth World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet this fall, adding another title to his career while enjoying a trip to a Las Vegas casino. The American poker professional won the $777 No-Limit Hold’em Lucky 7’s tournament online, earning $48,914 after beating a field of 363 entries.

The eighth bracelet saw Anderson join an exclusive group of players. He’s the 12th player in the series’ history to reach that milestone, joining champions like Daniel Negreanu and Nick Schulman.

From slot machines to the final table

Anderson’s victory began during an afternoon visit to Resorts World Las Vegas. He went to the Strip resort for a meal and some time playing slot machines, but also registered for the online tournament with the screen name “SethRogan”.

As the tournament progressed, Anderson built a chip stack while playing the slots. He eventually drove himself home in his Tesla to focus on the poker event. By the time he arrived, the tournament was approaching its final table, prompting him to move to his laptop and concentrate on the remaining opponents.

Poker has become more accessible through online platforms, making it possible for players to compete in tournaments without sitting at a physical table. People from around the world can access online casinos, such as an online casino Uganda.

A crucial hand

Anderson won a race involving 100 big blinds against “Joedontknowh”. His opponent recovered well to reach heads-up play but had to settle for second place and collect $36,209.

Several familiar names also reached the final table. Salvatore Dicarlo finished ninth for $4,446, while Benjamin Felson took eighth place and $5,717. Nick Palma, enjoying the strongest year of his poker career, finished seventh for $6,987 after his ace-jack failed to beat Anderson’s ace-king.

Anderson entered heads-up play with a solid chip advantage, holding nearly 50 times as many chips as his opponent.

It was Anderson’s third bracelet in as many months and his third career title in online WSOP events. He has accumulated around $8.2 million in live tournament earnings.

The eight-time winners

Anderson shares the eight-bracelet milestone with Daniel Negreanu and Nick Schulman, two players with rather different careers.

Negreanu is one of the game’s most recognisable figures, known for his success, extensive television appearances and ability to read opponents, as well as his openness about his health practices, including mindfulness. Negreanu’s reputation has helped poker reach bigger audiences.

The Canadian has been in the news himself plenty recently, not least because he was still in the race for 2026 WSOP Player of the Year in late October. Negreanu was 6th on the leaderboard, not far off Joshua Arieh in 5th.

Schulman established himself with high-level tournament performances and expertise in mixed games. He’s respected for his cash-game experience. Schulman has been in the top 100 in popularity rankings on The Hendon Mob.

Anderson’s record stands out for the combination of mixed-game expertise and online success. He has been called the winningest Razz player in WSOP history, and his recent victory demonstrates his ability in no-limit hold’em as well.
